Loreto Grammar School is proud to be a designated specialist college for Science and Mathematics. This means our work in these subject areas has proved to be consistently impressive enough that the Department of Education has pledged to support us in taking it further.
Day to day, this means we can enhance the learning journey of our pupils in a number of ways. From the refurbishment of 6 laboratories at the highest possible specification, to state of the art ICT facilities and specialist practical equipment, it would be true to say the experience of Science we can offer is second to none.
However, there is much more to our status than just what happens in our Science classrooms. As you browse our site, you will see examples of some of the cross curricular activities that are in place across the school, including our unique annual Science day, of our initiatives within the local community, including our work with the scouts, cubs and senior citizens, and of the opportunities we give parents to become a meaningful part of our specialist college status.
All of these initiatives, alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team of staff, mean that we really are a unique learning environment, committed to providing the widest range of activities and experiences to our learners.
I urge you to join us! If you have any links to the wider Scientific Community through your career, hobbies or interests and would like to get involved in the classroom and beyond, or are simply bursting with good ideas and inspiration, then please contact me here at Loreto as we continue our exciting journey…
