Mr David Wilson
David has extensive senior leadership experience as Headteacher of an 11-18 school classed as outstanding. He was involved in creating one of the first 11-18 Trust Schools and during his substantive headship was appointed to the role of Executive Headteacher, successfully mentoring a new headteacher into a leadership role and ultimately leading the additional school out of Special Measures to Good at its first inspection.
He has a wide range of subject expertise in economics and business subjects, particularly at GCSE and AS/A Level. His previous experience includes being an Ofsted Inspector for Business and post-16 education; Chair of Subject Committee for AQA and Chair of Examiners for AQA – GCSE.
His particular interests include developing and supporting effective leadership teams; school self-evaluation and school improvement planning; curriculum development and effective recruitment and selection. He is a long serving primary school governor and has also been a tutor for the Open University.
