Christmas Fair 2016
It helped to have a sweet tooth at Loreto Grammar School's Christmas Fair which raised more than £7,000 towards a new mini bus.
The traditional cake stall could have been staffed by Mary Berry, but it was Headmistress Jane Beever who was selling a succession of show stoppers.
She said: “From victoria sandwiches to traditional plum puddings, from red velvet cakes to sticky toffee tarts, our bakers did us proud with a wonderful array of delicious delights.”
There were musical performances, traditional games, henna and face painting and even a pick a carrot with a red nose contest, to go alongside a demonstration of high tech wizardry from the Loreto's award winning Science, Engineering Technology and Maths (STEM) students.
Mrs Beever added: “It is always wonderful to see the Loreto community come together and this year's fair was as superbly supported as ever. For me it signals the start of the Christmas season.”
