Higher Education, Careers and Destinations

Welcome to the Higher Education and Careers section of the website. Now is the time to start thinking about higher education and which career path is right for you. The Sixth Form Team, Ms Baker, our Careers Co-ordinator and our Connexions Advisor are available to discuss the choices you are making and support you as you make your next steps. Whether this be in to Higher Education or an Apprenticeship.

A key element of our work with students is through their applications to Higher Education through UCAS. Parents and Students will be introduced to the application process in February of Year 12 at our UCAS evening.  A guest from a regional university will be invited to speak about application issues, and every student will receive a Loreto Student Guide to UCAS handbook. The presentations from this evening can be found here;

In the Summer Term of Year 12, Students will have time allocated off-timetable for guided sessions on preparation for life after Loreto; including university & job applications, financial management and independent living.

The Tutor Time programme during from this period, up to October Half Term of Year 13 will be devoted to UCAS support from tutors to individual students.

Please see our UCAS booklet below for further information, which includes information relating to the support of students making early applications to Oxford or Cambridge, and to students applying to take Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Science.
